Teaching Philosophy

No student should be put into a "learning box." Every student I work with accesses learning via different methods and there is no one-size-fits-all.
I offer specialized support and strategies for students with unique learning needs so he/she can thrive academically and personally.

I don't like the term "learning disabilities."

Instead I call them "learning differences" because most students will thrive when given the right tools and environment that works with how they think. We don't expect a seed to grow under the snow or on a rock, why should we expect our students to learn in situations not conducive to their methods of learning?

I want my students to not only learn, but I also want them to LOVE learning.

"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn."

NILD Educational Therapy

Teaching the brain how to learn

NILD is more than traditional tutoring. Tutoring often focuses only on subject matter content, while NILD's therapies use subject matter as the learning vehicle to develop cognition and confidence. We focus on root learning issues, helping learners overcome these issues by developing new learning paths.

NILD Educational Therapy is a one-on-one individualized intervention to address the underlying causes of learning difficulties, rather than just the symptoms.

NILD is a program Empowering children to become excellent learners by focusing on key components: Cognition, perception, academics, and emotions. Potential students for this program are those who are struggling academically because of a learning struggle or disability/difference.

There is hope!

Perhaps you're a parent that suspects your child needs help or has just been given the diagnosis of a learning challenge, Unstoppable Seeds can help you navigate the next steps.

There is hope and a strong future for your student, despite any challenges he/she faces today. We have a God that is able to help us accomplish great things.

Ephesians 3:20 reminds us,

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,"

I believe that students can do abundantly more than they (or we) think they can!

Testimonies

Read what other parents have to say about our educational services.

I am so grateful for Sarah and her expertise woven with grace. My son grew leaps and bounds under her direction. Maryland lost one of its greatest leaders in special education when she left…our loss is a great gain for Illinois! I highly recommend Unstoppable Seeds!

Renee B. {Maryland}

My son progressed immensely under Sarah's tutorship, and has grown to be more confident and resilient! She provided a haven for my son to learn in and provided a way for him to grow and come into his own.

NILD Educational Therapy took my child from being unable to write legibly and on a straight line to writing in legible cursive on a line in 6 weeks. I will never stop singing the praises of this program! He is now more confident and less stressed when working in all subjects. He has gone from "I can't" to "I CAN."

Sarah has a wonderful way of gently encouraging her students to overcome their "brain blocks" and learn to work with their God-given abilities to strengthen the abilities that don't come as easily. She helps them understand that hard work is good work and that we all CAN do hard things.

Katie S. {Maryland}

From her godly character and gentleness of spirit, Sarah embodies the beauty of Christ as she teaches, administers, and guides students and fellow believers. Her wealth of knowledge in special eductation allows her to accommodate a variety of students and each one is lovingly coached through each process in fun, creative, and engaging ways! I highly recommend Sarah for all your teaching needs!

Meet Sarah and UnstoppABLE Seeds Education Services

Hello. I am Sarah Donegan, the teacher and therapist of UnstoppABLE Seeds. UnstoppABLE Seeds is a new educational program for students in Jacksonville, IL and the surrounding area who may have underlying issues that cause learning disabilities, have other conditions that hinder their learning processes, or need special one-on-one instruction.

In 2019 I created a similar program in Maryland and ran the program until the summer of 2024 when we relocated to Illinois. I started with 9 students in 2019 and it grew to 70 students and 14 teachers during the 2023-2024 school year. This program helped countless students who are now confident learners. I am very familiar with every aspect of assisting students with meeting their full academic potential.
My learning philosophy and research-based techniques are effective and can help any student succeed.

Experience:

I have worked with students with various learning disabilities for 26 years. I have taught in diverse settings including church, educational therapy, piano lessons, camps, private schools, tutorials, one-on-one sessions, substitute teaching in public schools, and homeschooling.
I have also been homeschooling for the past 18 years. I have served as a speaker and trainer for teachers in classrooms and churches. I offer encouragement and guidance to parents dealing with their children's needs.

Education:

I hold a B.A. in Youth Ministries from Pensacola Christian College and a Master of Educational Therapy from Southeastern College. I am also a Certified Dyslexia Specialist, PCTA certified, and Orton Gillingham trained, all of which serve as testaments to my expertise and credibility in the field.

About Me:

  • My husband and I have been given four amazing children to raise. All have left the nest except for the youngest.

  • My favorite Bible verse is Jude 22, which states, "Some having compassion, making a difference."

  • I have been a crafter for a lifetime and love to garden. I also like to read missionary biographies and am addicted to chocolate.
